Astonishing Eparchaen Unconformity- 1600 Million Old Rowdy

Unconformities are formed when there is a break in sedimentation. This creates a gap in the geological records. Eparchaen unconformity is again one topic which I have learned back in Geology classes and teacher suggested us to notice Eparchean unconformity on the way to Tirupati.

So here I am doing the same. Observing a magnificent million-year-old unconformity. As somehow we can’t get the darshan in the temple but while roaming the outside museum I recalled that we are a million years old potential geological creation which remind us of recess in the geological period.

Unconformity:

An unconformity represents an interval of time of unknown length which is spent in an erosion of the underlying strata before the deposition of the overlying rocks. I found a few interesting study material.

Here is list of some other geological delight from Sachet walker

Dhanushkodi Beach point and 5 spellbinding places

What to do after astounding darshan of Rameshwaram Dham? What about youngster and kids? Well as a solution Sachetwalker is giving you insight into things to do at Dhanushkodi beach point and 5 spellbinding places.

How to reach RAMESHWARAM

By Air

Madurai is the nearest Airport which is around 175 km distance from Rameswaram. Thoothukudi is another airport which is around 195 km distance from Rameswaram.

By Train

Rameswaram has a railway station which is around 1.3 km from the Ramanathaswamy temple. By Road

By Road

Rameswaram has a Bus stand which is around 2 km from the Ramanathaswamy temple.

Dhanushkodi

Dhanushkodi is where Vibishana, a brother of Ravana surrendered before Rama in the epic Ramayana. This has a beautiful aerial view and you can feel the freshness in the air all the time.

Now marked with Indian Emblem and a perfect place for photography and thinking spot.

Maintenance authority seems to change the beachside location last time it was on left this time it was on right. This time Dhanushkodi is filled with flocking tourist and photographers ready to capture memories.

High and mighty tides will remind you of Oceanic superpower

Dhanushkodi is a place which will shake you from inside out, these furious yet gentle waves will remind you of something forgotten, hidden rage and anger will slightly flow in this oceanic water.

After the incident of Tsunami and 2015 cyclone, the seashore is closely monitored and barricaded with heavy stone mesh.

Whatever may be the occasion (I never miss to pose) and make my collection rich with memories.

Kayaking and other water sports activities

Sea Kayaking, Stand Up Paddle Boarding and snorkelling are available at nearby locations. This has an additional benefit of staying and visiting the Gulf of Munnar.

I have tried other water activities at Andaman and Nicobar but here it was special because I was tired of doing regular travelling and water activities definitely recharge you.

Sri Panchmukhi Hanuman Mandir & Floating Stonestemple

A magnificent and memorable place to visit. Once or twice this will remind you of RICH INDIAN CULTURE and will make you feel special.

Now, I happened to do some background research on why they are floating

A scientific possibility

If air is trapped within a shell of silica it would look like a stone but would actually be very light and would thus float. Another example is Ice. When put into glass having liquid, ice floats on liquid & after some time it sinks. Another prime example is of “Pumice” stone.

Theory 1 (Pumice Theory):

I read this in a blog. It sounds totally reasonable at first. In short below,

Let start from the scientific fact that if air is trapped within silica, it would look like a stone but would be very light and float. Another example is Ice. When put into a liquid, ice floats on liquid & after some time it sinks. Another example is of “Pumice” stone. Pumice is the hardened foam of lava when it comes out of a volcano. The inside of a volcano has very high pressure and can be as hot as 1600 Celcius. When the lava comes out of the volcano, it meets the cool air or seawater.

Then air and water that was mixed in the lava bubble out. Due to temperature differences, it freezes and so bubbles trapped inside them. Hence weight is reduced, so it floats.

Dense stones do not float on water. But because pumice is full of air bubbles, it is less dense than water. So, in the beginning, it will float. But in time, water will enter the bubbles driving out the air. Slowly, the pumice sinks. This also explains why the Ram Setu is underwater today. Pumice doesn’t float forever. But you don’t see volcanoes near Rameswaram. So if you visit a volcanic island (like Barren Island in the Andamans, or Anak Krakatau in Indonesia), you can see several acres of pumice around the shore. Due to Tsunami in 2004, these stones washed towards shore, and people begin to see floating stones.

Drawback: Some floating stones of Rameshwaram are not light weighted like pumice rocks and doesn’t have the chemical composition similar to pumice rocks. Also, the colour of the pumice rocks is white or creams but there are many black floating stones in Rameswaram.

3 feet of courage

How to reach:

We took a cab from our home early in the morning and we had breakfast in a midway outer kingeri road. You can plan for taking BMTC bus from specific places as Kempgodwa Bus Stop or KR Market bus stop and catch any bus which is going towards Mysore Road ( 225)

Address:28th Km, Mysore Road, Bengaluru, Karnataka 562109

Wonderla Inclusions

  • Entry to Wonderla Amusement Park
  • Unlimited access to rides as per height and weight restrictions
  • Parking

Wonderla Not included

  • Locker fee
  • Swimsuit
  • Certain rides and paid attractions

Wonderla cater to a wide range of audiences may be children, youngster or family outings. It has so many attractions for each section.

Fun Racers

Fun Racers are water slides where you slither down lying prostrate on rubber mats. I found this one quite intriguing.

The downward slide is interspaced with level portions for a wonderful experience. Fun racers are a very enjoyable ride suitable for all age groups.

Wave Pools

The only difference is that the water isn’t salty and you don’t have to be afraid of the sea carrying you away.

In winter the pool is heated, so you can wallow in the waters all year round. The smaller of the two pools has shallow waters and tiny waves that children can cope with.

Sky Wheel

Firmly straddling a 13-story-high tower, the giant wheel with a diameter of 30 meters slowly turns on its axis to give the riders a bird’s eye view of the park and its surroundings.

Spacious lifts carry visitors to the top of the tower, which is a landmark that can be seen from miles around.

Wonder Splash

This ride is an absolute must for every guest visiting Wonderla. A bogie that resembles a raft made of logs is hauled up a hill using a conveyor and taken through a tunnel.

On emerging from the tunnel, it hurtles down a steep incline at a dizzying speed and splashes into a shallow pool, sending a glorious spray of water your way and drenching you in the process.

This fun ride is suitable for all riders in all the age groups.

Twisters

Twisters are a set of three water slides with tube-like structures that take you through a series of loops to finally disgorge you into a shallow pool of water.

Recoil – India’s First Reverse Looping Rollercoaster

This high tech roller coaster is imported from the Netherlands and has two track ramps that go up to 40 meters.

The train climbs one ramp and accelerates to 80 kmph in 1 second, before encountering a ‘cobra roll’ and a ‘loop’ in the tracks, climbing the second ramp, again to a 40 m height, and then doing it all over all again, only this time, it is Backwards!

Jungle Lagoon

Medium height water activity with special soft flooring, very shallow water levels and 5 uniquely themed water slides and a large water play tree-house and It can accommodate over 400 people comfortably.

Boomerang

We experienced this thrilling water ride that will test ourselves. The float moves into a closed tunnel and then suddenly drops from a height into a large boomerang shaped water slide resulting in a repeated to and fro motion.

Experience the Adventures of Chikku,

A state-of-the-art ride that combines a 3D film with physical and environmental effects, in an air-conditioned theatre with 180 seats.

Visitors will experience movement under their feet, splashes of water, gusts of wind and movie magic like never before.

An average experience for adults.kids found it interesting.

Sneak-peek into 12 century Gem of Sainte -Chapelle

Saint Chapelle is a gem of high Gothic architecture. I got an opportunity to sneak-peek into 12-century gem of Sainte-Chapelle.

The Palais de la Cite was residence and seat of Royal power from 10th to the 14th centuries and housed the Conciergerie and Sainte Chapelle which are now part of the Palace of Justice.

Saint chapelle is a gem of high Gothic architecture.
Saint Chapelle is a gem of high Gothic architecture.

Historical Significance of Sainte -Chapelle

The Sainte Chapelle was built between 1242 and 1248, in accordance with the wishes of Louie IX (King from 1226 to 1217 and the future Saint Louis) the house of relics of The Passion of Christ. The most famous of these relics was Crown of Thrones, acquired in 1239 for a sum that greatly exceeded the cost of building the chapel itself.

The religious and political influence of Sainte -Chapelle

The Holy Relics(parts of saint body, or objects that belonged to saints) has belonged to the emperor of Constantinople since the 4th century.

In purchasing them, Louis IX added to the prestige of both France and Paris which, in eyes of medieval Europe, became a “New Jerusalem”
and hence the second capital of Christianity.

Throughout the Revolutionary period,

The Sainte Chapelle, which was a symbol of royalty by divine right, suffered a great deal of damage, although the Steel with glass rose windows remain intact. From 1846 onwards, a huge wave of restoration work was carried out on the building, giving it its current appearance.

Inside, polychrome decoration, like the carved decoration in the porch, dates back to 19th century Restoration work. In the apse on the left, above the door to the former sacristy, is its 13th-century Fresco defecting the Annunciation.

This is the oldest wall painting in Paris.
The low vault is held up by openwork struts linking the aisle columns to the lateral walls. These walls are decorated with blind trefoil arcature and 12 medallions featuring the apostle.

This is truly monumental and sumptuously decorated reliquary. Sculpture and Windows combined harmoniously to glorify the Passion of Christ and create a feeling of entry into the Heavenly Jerusalem, bathed in light and colour.

The Chapel post-match of even its early fame to its stained glass Windows.

The 1,113 scenes depicted in the 15 stained glass windows tell the story of mankind from Genesis through to Christ resurrection. 14 of the windows depicting episodes from the Bible, should be read from left to right from the bottom upward.

Profound International Yoga Day (21 June)-Theme-Significance

Being part of a bigger family such as the ART OF LIVING. I got this opportunity to be part of a Yoga team. With a bunch of people, we conducted two sessions of Yoga with an estimated 300 students. This was an overwhelming experience to celebrate fifth International Yoga Day at Narayana Techno School.

“Like a flower bud, human life has the potential to blossom fully. Blossoming of human potential to fullness is yoga.”SRI SRI

How International yoga day (21 JUNE)came into existence?

On December 11 in 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga. The declaration came at the behest of the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi during his address to UN General Assembly on September 27, 2014, wherein he stated: “Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition.

Yoga is a 5,000-year-old tradition from India that combines physical, mental and spiritual pursuits to achieve harmony of the body and mind

It embodies the unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being.

It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and nature”.

PM Narendra Modi performs yoga during a mass yoga event on the 5th International Day of Yoga at Prabhat Tara ground, in Ranchi. (Image: PTI)

In Suggesting June 21, which is the Summer Solstice, as the International Day of Yoga,

Narendra Modi had said: “the date is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and has special significance in many parts of the world.”

What is yoga?

In Swami Vivekananda “all this bringing of the mind into a higher state of vibration is included in one word in Yoga .”Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India.

However, the word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness.

“Yoga brings the knowledge, passion and action together.” -SRI SRI .

Why do we mark International Days?

International days are occasions to educate the public on issues of concern, to mobilize political will and resources to address global problems and to celebrate and reinforce the achievements of humanity.

The existence of international days predates the establishment of the United Nations, but the UN has embraced them as a powerful advocacy tool.

What is theme for International Yoga DAY 2019?

2019 Theme is “Yoga for Climate Action”

The theme of 5th International Yoga Day 2019 is “Climate Action”. In the United Nation, it will be celebrated a day before that is on 20 June 2019 with ‘Yoga with Gurus’ and followed by a panel of discussion on 21 June.

Our dedicated team of yoga members from left: Nabonita, Sapna, Saurabh, Me(Namrata), Rajeesha and Prasad. Spreading Our Master message “The purpose of yoga is to stop suffering even before it arises.”

However, Climate Action theme focuses on the way how yoga can help us to solve the problem of climate change and also it brings a lot more benefits to the lives of people.

What is the Meaning of the International Yoga Day logo ?

Meaning of logo . “Yoga is a study of life, study of your body, breath, mind, intellect, memory, and ego; study of your inner faculties.” -SRI SRI

It is necessary to work towards climate change. The sense of respect for mother earth overcomes regular yoga practitioners that will help people to act in a certain way at home and working environment to work and build a better future.

Above all the significance of International Yoga Day

1.Increased muscle strength and tone ,Increased flexibility

2.Improved respiration, energy and vitality

3.Maintaining a balanced metabolism

One significant thing about yoga is it brings uniformity -Here basketball court, a playground is covered with colorful yoga mats and jubilant students.

4.In addition to Weight reduction.Cardio and circulatory health

5.Improved athletic performance

In India, (Ministry of Ayush ) renamed as Department of Ayurveda, Yoga, and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) in November 2003, with focused attention for the development of Education and Research in Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy manages and celebrate International Yoga Day.

Types of Yoga’s

Hatha Yoga-  Hath Yoga encompasses styles which include Bikram Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, and Kundalini Yoga and aims for the physical wellness of a person. This form of yoga aims to bring about a balance between the positive and negative energies of the body.

Kundalini Yoga-  This form of Yoga is more spiritual in nature and aims to activate the root chakra in the human body, through which increased awareness of the surrounding environment can be created.

Raja Yoga- Raja Yoga is one of the six traditional schools of Hindu philosophy and aims to provide its practitioner with the power of detachment so that he can enjoy everything without getting attached or bound by them.

Karma Yoga- Karma yoga is a form of Yoga which teaches the karma yogi to practice selfless action without aspiring for any kind of material or spiritual gains. The dialogue between Arjun and Sri Krishna in Bhagwad Gita embodies the principle of Karma Yoga.

Bhakti Yoga- The origin of Bhakti Yoga can be traced back to the Upanishads, which is focused on the cultivation of love and devotion towards God. In Bhakti Yoga, the yogi aims to attain spiritual liberation through the attainment of oneness with God.

Over a period of time, this ancient practice of yoga has undergone many changes, to become adaptable to the needs of modern civilization.

In the postmodern era, SRI SRI RAVI SHANKAR JI SAYS “The wisdom of Yoga transforms one from arrogance to self-confidence; meekness to humility; from dependence to a realization of interdependence.”

Water Conservation:

To counter the looming water crisis in India, The Art of Living has been reviving rivers and other water resources through its water conservation initiatives. Through these efforts, people are being made aware of water conservation practices and the importance of the judicious use of natural resources like water.

The Art of Living devised a three-pronged approach for its river projects:

1. Comprehensive

Provide local solutions in a scientific manner that mimic natural systems for restoring water.

Myself with senior Art of living Faculty G.RADHAKRISHNAN

2. Sustainable

Solve the immediate needs of giving people access to safe water and also create systems that ensure reliable supplies in the future.

Empower local communities through capacity building frameworks.

The head worries and the heart feels. They cannot function at the same time. When your feelings dominate, worry dissolves.

The programs continue to empower women with economic independence, education, leadership training, trauma relief, and social empowerment.

We have a multi-dimensional strategy to plan and execute projects that deal with the extremely complex topic of women empowerment issues.

3. Rural Development :

Inspired by the vision of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, The Art of Living has been working relentlessly towards empowering rural communities through programs like the 5H program, Light A Home Project, and Sri Sri Natural Farming.

The Art of Living’s rural development programs seeks to build harmony and boost the emotional, physical and economic well-being in rural and tribal areas.
